Property Taxes

Property Tax Notices are mailed to each taxpayer, who is the property owner on record as of January 1st, during the last week of September.  If you receive a notice, but have sold the property, please forward the notice to the new property owner, if they have assumed the responsibility to pay the tax.  Otherwise, it is your responsibility to pay.  If your taxes are paid by a mortgage company, please check with them to avoid a duplicate payment.

To avoid interest, taxes must be paid on or before the last day in February.  Beginning March 1st, a combined rate of 1.5% penalty per month will be added to any delinquent taxes.

Taxes may be paid in-person at Morrison Town Hall or by phone during regular business hours. Cash, check, debit and credit cards are accepted.  If paying by debit/credit card, a 3.5% convenience fee will be added by the card issuer.  The Town of Morrison does not receive any portion of this convenience fee.  We also offer a convenient drive-thru and an after-hours drop box (under the drive-thru window). You may also mail your check payable to: Morrison Town Hall, 130 West Maple Street, Morrison, TN 37357.   If paying by mail or in the drop box, a receipt will be mailed to you.

If you have any questions regarding your taxes, please call the Town Recorder at (931) 635-2363.
